Overview

UTM Campaign Tracking provides detailed analytics for your marketing campaigns using UTM parameters. Track traffic sources, mediums, campaigns, terms, and content — all within your WordPress dashboard. This is a Pro feature.

Feature Details

Category Marketing Analytics
Type Campaign Tracking
Plan Pro
Configurable Settings Yes

Prerequisites

  • Page Visit Counter Analytics Pro must be installed and activated.
  • A valid Pro license key must be configured.
  • Marketing URLs must include UTM parameters (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, etc.).

How to Access

  1. Go to your WordPress admin dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Analytics > UTM Campaigns from the left sidebar menu.
  3. View campaign performance metrics with date range filtering.

How It Works

When visitors arrive at your site via a URL containing UTM parameters, the plugin automatically captures and stores the campaign data with the session record. The UTM Campaigns report aggregates this data to show performance metrics for each campaign.

All five UTM parameters are tracked: utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, and utm_content. You can view campaigns grouped by any combination of these parameters, see session counts, average session duration, and when combined with Goal Tracking, measure conversion attribution per campaign.

Benefits

  • Measure the effectiveness of every marketing campaign directly in WordPress.
  • Track all five UTM parameters for comprehensive campaign analysis.
  • Attribute conversions to specific campaigns when used with Goal Tracking.
  • Date range filtering for period-specific campaign performance.
  • No need for Google Analytics or external tools to track UTM campaigns.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are UTM parameters?

UTM parameters are tags added to URLs to track where traffic comes from. For example: ?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=spring-sale. The plugin automatically captures these when visitors click your tagged links.

Do I need to configure anything for UTM tracking?

No additional configuration is needed. Once the Pro version is activated, UTM parameters are automatically captured from incoming URLs. Just make sure your marketing links include UTM tags.

Can I attribute conversions to campaigns?

Yes. When used together with the Goal Tracking feature, conversions can be attributed to specific UTM campaigns, giving you full conversion funnel visibility.
