Overview

The Settings and Configuration panel gives you full control over how Page Visit Counter Analytics tracks visitors, manages data, and handles privacy. Customize tracking behavior, exclude roles, block IPs, manage the database, and more.

Prerequisites

  • Page Visit Counter Analytics plugin must be installed and activated.
  • Administrator access to WordPress is required.

How to Access

  1. Go to your WordPress admin dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Analytics > Settings from the left sidebar menu.

Available Settings

The settings page provides the following configuration options:

  • Enable/Disable Tracking: Toggle visitor tracking on or off globally.
  • Exclude User Roles: Choose which user roles (e.g., Administrator, Editor) should be excluded from tracking.
  • Block IP Addresses: Enter specific IP addresses to exclude from analytics.
  • Tracked Post Types: Select which post types to include in analytics tracking.
  • Metric Collection: Enable or disable specific metrics (device, browser, geolocation, etc.).
  • Database Partitioning: Manage database partition settings for large datasets.
  • GeoIP Database: Manually trigger an update of the MaxMind GeoLite2 database.
  • Reset Data: Option to clear all analytics data and start fresh.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will disabling tracking delete existing data?

No. Disabling tracking only stops new data from being collected. All existing analytics data is preserved. To delete data, use the Reset Data option.

Can I track only specific post types?

Yes. In the settings, you can select which post types should be tracked. Only selected post types will have their pageviews recorded.

How do I reset all analytics data?

Go to the Settings page and use the Reset Data option. This will permanently delete all recorded pageviews and sessions. This action cannot be undone.
