How to Access
- Go to your WordPress admin dashboard.
- Navigate to Analytics > Top Sessions from the left sidebar menu.
- Click on any session to view the full user journey details.
How It Works
Each visitor session records every page visited in chronological order. The User Journey view shows the complete sequence of pages a visitor viewed, with timestamps, referrer information, post types, and time spent on each page.
You can see session metadata including the visitor’s device type, browser, operating system, country, and the original referrer that brought them to your site. The journey is displayed as a chronological flow showing the entry page, each subsequent page, and the exit page.
Benefits
- Understand exactly how visitors navigate through your site.
- Identify common paths that lead to conversions or drop-offs.
- Discover which pages cause visitors to leave your site.
- See the full context of each visit including device, location, and referrer.
- All data is anonymous — individual visitors cannot be identified.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I identify individual users from their journey?
No. All visitor data is anonymous. Sessions are identified by hashed identifiers that cannot be traced back to specific individuals. The plugin is privacy-first by design.
How do I access a specific session’s journey?
Go to Analytics > Top Sessions and click on any session in the list. The detailed journey view shows every page visited during that session in chronological order.
What data is shown for each page in the journey?
Each page in the journey shows the URL, page title, post type, referrer, timestamp, and the association with the parent session metadata (device, browser, country).
